A few thank yous....

I just this minute paid my trek fee to the Global Volunteer Network ($1260) so I guess that means I am really going! I am terribly excited about this trip. It's almost all I can think about.

I'd like to thank a few people who have helped me out along the way so far:

  • My mom: She bought my hiking boots for me!
  • Margie Leathers: Gave me my first donation toward the GVN Foundation.
  • Beverly Losman: Donated to the GVN Foundation.
  • Jamie Reid: Donated to the GVN Foundation and also to me!
  • Anita and Ross Valdez: My awesome aunt and uncle who provided enough frequent flyer miles to get me to Kathmandu and back!
  • Maryann Morris: Gave me a donation!
  • Kenny Hacket: Donated hot shower money to me.
  • Danna Thompson: Donated to the GVN Foundation.
  • Angela Johnston: Letting me borrow equipment!
  • The Lindabury Family: Donated to me.
  • Joyce Allers: Donated to the GVN Foundation.
  • Martin Barry: Gave me a pointy knife and a gift card, with which I was able to purchase a solar charger for my iPod and satellite phone.
  • Chuck Shakar: Donated to me.
  • Susan Yoder: Donated items for my yard sale, which helped me raise $150.
  • Jarrad Washington: Donated items for my yard sale and is helping me train like a crazy beast!
  • Jerry Thomas: Bought me a lovely gift of a pair of zip-off convertible pants.
  • Rick and Judy Monroe: Donated to me.

I myself have donated $200 to the GVN Foundation; $150 of that came from the yard sale and the other $50 was from collecting change and selling old CDs.

So thank you to all of you who have helped me on my way. I cannot tell you how much it means to me that you have enough faith in me to support me in this. You guys are amazing.
