The second day of boot camp was rough! We did lots of running - sprints, suicides, uphill runs, etc. Many of y'all know that I am soooo not a runner so this was pretty tough for me but I didn't quit and I didn't cry so that was good.
I do think I aggravated an old injury... several years ago I tore my left quadriceps - that's the big muscle in your thigh. I'm sure any family members reading this will remember how lovely I looked on crutches at my sweet cousin Britt's wedding :P Anyway, even after all these years it is still fairly sensitive and prone to re-injury. Doing step-ups on a wall that was just a little too high was apparently not a good idea yesterday. No more of that for me.
My muscles were so sore yesterday that I could barely walk down the stairs at work! Everyone just kept laughing at me. Michele and Brinsley, my two co-workers who also do boot camps, were very supportive and told me that the first week is the toughest. I know they are right and I just have to stick with it. Tomorrow can't be as bad. It just can't be!
I think my Atlanta Journal-Constitution article will come out soon. Intrepid reporter Gracie called earlier to confirm my web page address (can I just say again that she is awesome??) so hopefully that will drive some folks to donate. I could sure use the help! I have about $1300 left to raise.
I get to leave work a bit early today since I stayed late for our LiveSTRONG Day event last night. I am heading straight to the drug store for Icy Hot and an ice pack!
Oooohhhhh Icy Hot... how do I love thee??
