Last night before trekking!

Not much time to post but tonight is our last night in KTM before we fly (at 7am!) to Lukla to begin trekking. This might be my last post for a while!

Today we went to the largest Stupa (monastery) in the world, it was lovely! Bought a lot of great prezzies for folks. After that we checked out Durbar Square again, this time with no rain. That place is INSANE. I took some video from up high on the Hippie Temple. I also smashed my finger (right index) pretty badly on a chair at a rooftop restaurant and it was spurting blood for a long time. I will probably lose my fingernail, at least that's what my roommate Shannon thinks (she's a nurse). Cracked my nail clean across but still connected at the edges. It is throbbing!!! Tough to type. I think it will be ok though so no need to worry.

I bought a lovely mandala painting today at a painting school were the buddhist monks come to teach. Also a watch, thank goodness!! Of course all the instructions were in some language I didn't know. Awesome!

I think maybe we were supposed to meet our group for dinner at 5:30 but they didn't announce it this morning at our trek briefing so not sure what' sup with that. Our GVN reps don't seem totally organized, i have to say. I hope the guides are better. Last; night the GVN reps lost of us on the way to dinner! We ate on our own and they finally found us. Not well organized at all.

This evening we had an exciting ride in a rickshaw - me, Shannon and Vince (from Canada) got cozy in a tricycle rickshaw and it was terrifying! We laughed and screamed the whole way.

Tonight we have to pack for our trek. Our bags must be less than 15kg - I have no idea how much that is! I'll try to post when I can along the way but I may not be able to for a long time.

I hope you are all well, I miss everyone so much.

Love to you all!!!

Lindsey
